Gordon completed a stunning cup treble on Saturday when they defeated Tweedmouth Amateurs 2-0 in the final of the Forsyth Cup at Earlston.
The Berwickshire side have not been strangers to a cup final this season having already won the Border Cup and Beveridge Cup and also finished runners-up in the ‘A’ League making it a very successful campaign indeed.
A goal in each half was enough to give Gordon victory on Saturday. The first came from the penalty spot after Utterson was upended in the box while the second saw Simpson’s shot deflected in off a Tweedmouth defender.
Tweedmouth Amateurs, who have won promotion to next season’s ‘A’ League after finishing runners-up in the ‘B’ League, were no pushovers, and were unlucky not to get a penalty of their own in the second half.
