Tynecastle were the visitors to Warner Park on Saturday and after scoring 11 goals in their previous two visits they must have been confident of taking all three points.
The visitors showed their intentions early on when they attacked down the left but keeper Adam Mutch pulled off a great save. Eyemouth were not to be outdone when they were awarded an free kick outside the box which striker Gavin Burrell smashed off the crossbar.
The Fishermen were having to work hard to get hold of the ball and things got even tougher when they lost skipper Alan Speirs to injury.
Chances were few for the Fishermen. Aidan Lauder did find Darren Bowie in the box but the keeper saved well.
Tynecastle were reduced to 10 men on the half hour mark when comment was passed to the referee who had no choice but to send off their influential midfielder. Eyemouth did have the ball in the net just before the break but striker Burrell was ruled off side.
Eyemouth came out strong after the break but found the Tynecastle defefence resilient. On 75 minutes Eyemouth had a great chance to take the lead when Paul Love struck the perfect volley but the Tynecastle keeper pulled off a fantastic save.
The last five minutes proved Eyemouth’s downfall. Tynecastle scored with a goal which looked suspiciously offside and as Eyemouth pushed for the equaliser were punished again when a rare mistake in defence allowed Tynecastle to get their second in injury time.
