After the midweek game away to Kelso where Eyemouth recorded a 2-1 win, they once again welcomed Ormiston to Warner Park who had also played midweek away to Peebles and lost heavily allowing the Whitestone Park side to win the East of Scotland Division one championship.
Ormiston who are still in with a chance of promotion would be looking to get the three points available but they got the fishermen on the wrong day.
In a game that arguably was Eyemouth’s best of the season the goal onslaught started on 15 minutes when Alan Spiers headed in from a corner.
Aidan Lauder then converted from the penaltry spot after being brought down and an own goal made it 3-0.
Ormiston then had a man sent off but managed to pull a goal back to make it 3-1.
But on 41 minutes Eyemouth got their fourth goal and best of the game when Sean Campbell lined up a free kick outside the box and curled it into the top right hand corner.
And the fifth was soon to follow right on half time when Scott Adamson crossed from the left to find Campbell once again who clinically finished for the fishermen to go in at the interval 5-1 up.
The goalfest continued in the second half. Ormiston got it back to 5-2 but Lauder netted his second of the game before the visitors scored again to make it 6-3.
Gavin Burrell then completed the scoring to send Eyemouth into seventh heaven.
