EYEMOUTH UNITED 3 KELSO UNITED 3
Eyemouth were forced to come from behind to earn a point in a hard fought match against Kelso at Warner Park on Saturday.
The Fishermen went into the game short handed as a number of their players, and manager, were away on a stag weekend.
And worse was to follow when they saw two players limp off with injuries, leaving them depleted even further.
Paul Tansey made a good early save to deny Steven tait from a header, but the visitors took the lead after 17 minutes when Gary McNulty headed powerfully into the net.
Eyemouth almost equalised three minutes later when dead ball expert Mark Bolton fired in a free kick from the edge of the box but the home team did get on equal terms just before the half hour mark through Connor Lough.
Bolton then rattled the crossbar, but Kelso scored twice early in the second half to go 3-1 in front, leaving Eyemouth with an uphill battle.
Stevie Shennan pulled a goal back with a speculative shot from 20 yards out which struck a defender and looped over the goalkeeper, and they managed to draw level when a thunderbolt from Bolton was spilled by the keeper and Spiers ran in to head home.
