Goalkeeper Mark Walters is eyeing a move to Berwick Rangers after previously playing non-league.
The former Coldstream stopper has been on trial at Shielfield over the past few weeks and has featured in three pre-season friendlies, against North Shields, Dunfermline and Hibernian.
He played the entire 90 minutes against Hibs on Tuesday, making several vital saves and afterwards he admitted he was keeping his finger crossed over the offer of a contract.
“I was delighted when Berwick rang me and offered me the chance,” he said.
“It’s been a lot of hard work, the game is a lot quicker, but I am enjoying it.
“I think the time might be right for me to make the step up to league level, all I can hope is that the gaffer (Colin Cameron) thinks the same.”
