Following a successful loan spell from Dunfermline Athletic, Ross Drummond has pledged his future to Berwick Rangers by signing 18-month contract.
The 20-year-old left-back has made 11 appearances for Berwick this season and scored his first senior goal in last week’s 3-0 win over East Stirlingshire.
Drummond made 12 appearances for Dunfermline before joining Berwick Rangers for a second loan spell earlier this season.
Dunfermline manager John Potter said: “Ross is at an age now where he needs to play. I did the exact same thing myself when I was 20 year old. I was here and I wasn’t playing all the time. I had to go and start my career by playing regularly. He has to do that and I cannot guarantee him that here.
“He is going to join Berwick Rangers on a permanent basis. They are going to offer him a deal and I am happy for him to do that. I have spoken to him and explained that his opportunities would be limited here.
“In the interest of Ross’ career it is best to go away and play regular. He agreed and he will join Berwick.”
Drummond’s first football was played with Burntisland Shipyard, but he was at Dunfermline from U10 level.
His previous loan spell at Berwick Rangers was in 2013-14.
