The BT Shield competition is approaching the national semi-final stage, despite Duns RFC not having played a single tie yet in the tournament.
The BT Shield is split into four separate regional tournaments, with the winner of each going forward to the national semi-finals in March next year, followed by the final at BT Murrayfield in April.
The finalists in the Glasgow and Caledonia Shields are known, while the Edinburgh and Border Shields are at the semi-final stage.
The full list of fixtures still to be played is:
Glasgow Shield Final, February 20, 2016 - Carrick v Annan.
Caledonia Shield Final, January 30, 2016 - Glenrothes v Highland.
Edinburgh Shield semi-finals, February 6, 2016 - North Berwick v Penicuik and Linlithgow v Murrayfield Wanderers. Final to be played on March 12, 2016.
Border Shield semi-final, February 6, 2016 - Duns v Langholm. Final, March 12, 2016 - Duns or Langholm v St Boswells
The National semi-finals will be played on March 26, 2016, with the final at BT Murrayfield on April 16, 2016.
Meanwhile Duns RFC’s new clubrooms in the former gymn hall of the old Berwickshire High School are taking shape and the club is planning to open them for New Years Day celebrations.
Doors will open on Friday at 2pm when there will be live sport on the big screen.
At 3pm there is live music for all the family, bring the kids to have a great day at the new club. In the evening there will be a disco from 8pm to 1am.
The club is looking forward to seeing everyone at the new facility having a great day with family and friends.
Entry is free entry but there will be a raffle with players selling tickets all day to help raise funds to keep this great project moving forward for everyone to enjoy.
