Duns Baby Bears won a ten-team Borders tournament in style by thumping host club Selkirk 5-1 in the final.

The eight-man P3s squad scored 30 tries in their five games on Sunday, Kaylen Martin bagging ten of them. Ethan Craze scored eight, taking his season tally to 48, while Max Pearson touched down six times.

Duns won four group matches on their way to the final, scoring an impressive 25 tries and conceding just three.

They beat Selkirk Reds 7-1, Peebles 5-2 and then Selkirk Blues 8-0.

The Baby Bears faced unbeaten Gala in the semis. The defence had to stand firm early on, but they ran out comfortable 5-0 winners in the end.

The newest member of the Duns team, Jackson Winrow, was outstanding throughout the day.

Playing against players nearly two years his senior, he never stopped and his tackling was superb.
