Duns ASC in Border Schools time trials

Several members of Duns Amateur Swimming Club took part in the recent Border Schools time trials.

Euan Johnson, swimming for Selkirk High, had a successful day, taking gold in the open 400 metres and 200 metres freestyle and silver in the 100 metre free style.

Swimming for the Berwickshire High were Zara Milton, Ailie Herbert, Danny Milton and Charlie Lochhead.

Zara won silver medals in the 100 metre fly and 200 metre breast, and came fourth in the open 400 free.

Ailie Herbert won silver in the 100 breast and bronze in the 200 breast. She also came sixth in the 100 back and 200 free.

Danny Milton took silver in the 200 breast and bronze in the 100 breast, while Charlie lochhead won silver in the 100 back, 200 back and 100 free, and bronze in the 200 IM.

Swimming for Duns Primary were Sophie Thomson, George Smith, Callum and Lewis Tharme, Jade Longstaff, Beth Weir, Emily Bates and Barnaby Bevan.

Sophie Thomson came fourth in the 50 back and eighth in the 50 breast and George Smith was fourth in the 50 fly and 12th in the 50 free, while Callum Tharme was eighth in the 50 free.

The boys relay of George, Callum, Lewis and Barnaby won gold and the girls relay of Sophie, Emily, Jade and Beth came sixth overall.

Whilst Swimming for Eyemouth High School, Rebekah Wilson won gold in the 100 breast, 200 breast and silver in the 100 fly. Swimming for Swinton Primary were Ellenor Gracey, Eilidh Smith , Megan Hay and Emily hay. Elleno Gracey came 10th in the 50 breast and fourth in the 50 free, while a relay team of Ellenor, Megan, Emily and Eilidh won bronze.
