Duns Seconds welcomed Leith Seconds to Castle Park on Friday evening for a floodlit fixture in BT Reserve League East 3
After four minutes of play in Leith’s 22, Tom Swan crossed the line in the left hand corner to open the Duns account, Alasdair Hamilton duly converted the difficult kick from out wide.
Leith pressed the Duns line for a period but when the home team broke free, after some quick ball through the hands, David Hutchison crossed the try line in the right hand corner, unfortunately the conversion was missed.
After an evenly contested period of play around the centre line, Nathan Chisholm picked up and fended off a couple of his opponents to cross the line. Hamilton duly converted. Eight minutes later there was a repeat with Chisholm crossing the whitewash and Hamilton converting.
Hamilton made a fine break from the Duns 22 to score under the posts and duly converted his own try to make the half-time score 33-0.
After a very short interval, Hutchison scored an unconverted try and captain Stewart Calder added another with Hamilton adding a further two points.
Duns completed the scoring with a Stuart Davies try which was coverted by Hamilton.
