FUTURE drivers from Berwickshire and Eyemouth High Schools are being invited to events designed to raise awareness of their responsibilities and the dangers they face as new drivers.
The event will be held for sixth year students at Berwickshire High tomorrow, Friday, September 2 and Eyemouth High pupils on Saturday, September 10.
Its programme covers drink driving, speeding, damage to people and cars, the skills needed when learning to drive and a basic understanding of car maintenance. The workshops, running from 9am-3pm, are sponsored by Lothian and Borders Police, Momentum (the head injury trust), the Speed Camera Partnership, the Fire and Ambulance services, and local garages.
One of the key parts of the day is ‘Friends Disunited’ a play about how one friend is injured due to another’s poor driving.
