Wind farms

SIR, - I wholeheartedly agree with the letter by R.J. Morris in last week’s Berwickshire News.

As a local resident to the proposed Blackmains Wind Farm I could potentially have a development of seven turbines within 1100 to 1500 metres of my property. These would have a major visual impact not only upon me and my neighbours but on local residents within close proximity to this site.

Goodness knows what other implications are involved particularly concerning noise levels, safety issues with road traffic, access, impact on the environment, local tourism and the economy, and the potential fall in house prices and saleability of properties in the vicinity of the wind farm of which the villages of Reston, Ayton and Coldingham, as well as smaller settlements in the area, will be affected.
