UPDATE: Teenager killed in Berwick road accident is named

A sixteen-year-old boy who was killed in a collision in Berwick on Friday night has been named.

Kyle Lowes, from Eyemouth, was riding a scooter that was involved in a collision with a car shortly after 10pm on North Road.

Officers are carrying out enquiries into the collision and asking any witnesses to come forward.

Motor Patrols Sergeant Jason Ryder, said: “This is a tragic incident and our thoughts are with the family of the boy who died at this difficult time.

“It’s important we find out what happened and I would ask anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact us.

“We believe the boy was with another male on a scooter shortly before the collision and they had visited McDonald’s in Berwick. We’re keen to hear from anyone who saw them, whether in Mcdonald’s or the surrounding area.”

A 43-year-old man from Berwick has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless/inconsiderate driving and has been released on police bail.
