A sell-out attendance of 124 people – many from the surrounding areas in the Borders and north Northumberland - gathered at Paxton House recently for an event dedicated to the art of hats.
The renowned Northumberland couture milliner Margaret Woodliff-Wright delighted the audience with her hat designs at Paxton House on Wednesday November 4.
The talk from Margaret was followed by a wonderful afternoon tea at the historic Country house on the banks of the Tweed.
And altogether the event raised a fantastic £1,059 for HospiceCare North Northumberland.
A graduate of the Leeds College of Art, Margaret’s specialism is making seasonal couture millinery collections and commissions.
Her hats have been regularly worn at national events such as Ascot, and have also featured at Harvey Nichols, Wetherby Races; Harrogate Fairs and even the National Hat Museum, in Stockport.
On behalf of HospiceCare Northumberland the Mad about Hats” team would like to thank everyone who joined them at Paxton House, for an excellent afternoon’s fund raising event. More photos are available to view at www.pinterest.com/mhwoodliff/afternoon-tea-at-paxton-house/
