Stolen car found on St Abbs cliffs

POLICe and the crew of St Abbs Lifeboat were alerted to a stolen car that was found on cliffs at St Abbs on Sunday morning.

The car first came to the attention of a local walker at 9am and they contacted the police and coastguard.

The lifeboat was launched immediately and went straight to the position of the car. Once on the scene the lifeboat crew checked the vehicle to see if there was anyone in. No-one was found and after a quick search of the area the Lifeboat was stood down.

A police spokesperson confirmed that the car was a Peugeot 306 estate that was taken from Hopestead Farm, Coldingham between 9pm on Friday, October 15 and 12.30pm on Saturday, October 16.

Anyone who spotted the car over the weekend or has any information on the incident should contact their local police station.
