At 7.55pm pm Wednesday August 5, St Abbs Lifeboat was launched to go to the aid of a fisherman in trouble.

The man was in an inflatable ring,with fins and a paddle,and had been caught in a five-knot tide as he rounded West Hurkur.

He had a VHF radiowhich he used to call Aberdeen Coastguard,who paged the station The man was picked up by the lifeboat in the vicinity of the Glanmire wreck, as he was drifting out to sea.
