Splodge, aged just one and a half, disappeared from the Lennel home of his owner, Frances Chorley, at the end of July.
Frances said: “It was very strange that he should go off on his own, he never usually does that.
“And I work from home, as well. He just set off while I was out for a loaf of bread.
“I was really worried. I took out an ad in the ‘Berwickshire’, and I had help puting up posters around the place.
“I even got the news put out over Radio Borders, which must have helped.
“Norma, a butcher in Norham of all places, said she had seen him around her farmhouse. I went there with his picture on my ipad, and it was him, all of five miles away!
“I’m so relieved, and want to thank everybody who helped.”
