There will be a rare chance to have your favourite antiques and treasured family heirlooms valued at a special evening organised by the South East Scotland Branch of St John Scotland at Duns Castle on Sunday evening, May 29.
St John’s chairman Alasdair Hutton said: “We will be lucky enough to have the expert advice of Mr Charles Campbell-Graham from Bonhams to give an opinion on the items bought to him on the evening. People often wonder what they have in their homes and if they have any value, as the Antiques Road Show on TV has proved. We are very grateful to Mr and Mrs Hay for their hospitality.”
Doors at Duns Castle will be open for the evening between 6.30-8.30pm.
“This will be an enjoyable and relaxed evening giving anyone the opportunity to bring their fun and favourite items for valuation, enjoy a glass of wine and some canapés, and take part in a quiz on mystery items,” said Alasdair.
The cost for the evening will be: Entry, wine and canapés £10 per person; Valuation £5 per item; Quiz £1 per entry. Tickets will be on sale at the door on the evening but can be booked in advance.
