A new solar panel system has been installed at Dunbar Bowling Club, with the help of Community Windpower, who provided a BeGreen Dunbar renewables grant of £5,423.
The panels are just part of the club’s refurbishment project, which included an extension that can host functions or act as a two lane bowling alley, a new kitchen, disabled access, toilets and changing rooms.
Ian Affleck, property convenor for the Club, said: “The club are extremely grateful to Community Windpower for installing the panels. We are amazed at how much electricity is being generated already.
“The savings we make on our energy bills can be put back into other areas of the club, while we are doing our bit for the environment too. It’s a win, win! We are so pleased with all aspects of the refurbishment.”
