Two local musicians and a band have joined forces and released a single which is being released to help raise funds for injured speedway rider Ricky Ashworth.

Former rider and good friend of Ashworth, Scott Courtney, has teamed-up with lifelong Bandits’ fan Scott Spence and local band Easter Street to release the track.

Entitled ‘It’s Jesus,’ the fast-paced single is now available from iTunes, Amazon and all other download stores, with all profits transferred to support Ashworth and his family via the Speedway Riders’ Benevolent Fund.

Ashworth is still in hospital in Salford in a coma more than three months after a crash whilst racing for Berwick at Scunthorpe.

“Ricky is a good friend of mine,” said Courtney. “He brought something special to Berwick, but faces a tough road ahead. There’s no doubt in my mind his personality and determination will shine through,”
