SETON Care, part of the Berwickshire Housing Association group, has now gained charitable status.

Since 2004 Seton Care has been providing a range of care services including care at home, day care and residential care to the people of Berwickshire and North Northumberland and have always worked as a not for profit organisation. As well as services for older people Seton Care runs Little Reivers day nursery in Duns and provides sheltered housing in Berwickshire.

Becoming a charity will allow Seton Care to bid for charitable funds to broaden its activities and offer more services to local people in need. They will also benefit from more favourable tax treatment and have access to a wider range of funding.

Seton Care’s Chair James Evans said “The achievement of charitable status is an important step in the development of Seton Care. We shall continue to strive to provide the highest standards of care in the community to which we believe the people of the Eastern Borders are entitled to.”
