Scottish Borders Council has been ordered by the Scottish Information Commissioner to provide details on consultations it had with the Sheriff Principal (Lothian & Borders) regarding new candidates.
A Freedom of Information request was made to the council for the information in October last year but was not provided within the time limit set.
The Scottish Information Commissioner (SCI) reported this week that the council failed to comply with the requirement and SBC has been told to give a response to the person asking for the information by Monday, March 9, 2015.
Responding to the SIC, the council explained that a review was carried out in November 2014, but due to an administrative error the outcome was not communicated. They confirmed a response would be sent but this had not been done by the time of SCI’s decision.
