A friendly takeover is about to take place at Paxton House - but only for the day - by Eyemouth High School pupils!
As part of the school’s eight week enrichment programme the pupils have been learning how the house is run and on Wednesday, October 5, they will be putting into practice what they have learned.
The students will be in charge of the reception and shop, office, tearoom, the grounds and house itself and its marketing department.
Some of the pupils will act as tour guides for the day, dressing in traditional styled costumes as they lead visitors round the house.
There will be Paxton House costume collection on display, as requested by the students, and maids will be cooking up a storm in the old kitchen, where cookery demonstrations will be running throughout the day with plenty of tasty samples to try.
All the students have specific roles to play – from welcoming the guests to running a live social media feed which will be keeping everyone informed of what’s happening on the day, with photographs and up to the minute information.
Entry to the house on October 5 will be by donation, with Eyemouth High School students ready to welcome you from 11am until 3.15pm. Tour times are: 11am, 12 noon, 1pm and 2pm.
The public are being asked to support the students who have been planning and training for the event, helped by Paxton House staff.
