Pupils set to skip to charity beat

PUPILS and staff from Hawick High School are taking part in a charity skipping event to help raise money for the British Heart Foundation.

The pupils will be ‘Skipping School’ and participating in skipping games in a bid to raise money for the heart charity, which provides resources for teaching the Heartstart first aid programme to all S2 pupils.

The skipping is taking place on Tuesday 9 and Wednesday November 10 in the old parish church hall on Buccleuch Road and members of the public are very welcome to attend to watch demonstrations of the pupils performing CPR and skipping.

The hall will be open from 9:00am till 1:00pm with a 15 minute break at eleven o’clock. Teas and coffees will be served.

n For the second year in succession senior pupils and staff are taking part in Movember, as they grow moustaches throughout next month to raise awareness and cash for the prostate cancer charity.

Any donations can be handed in to the high school office from Monday.
