Gordon Primary School is inviting parents, carers and their wider community to visit and find out how they can become more involved in their local school.
Together with Earlston Primary, the school was recently awarded a grant to help promote parental involvement. As a result of working with parents from both communities, each will hold a learning partnership event to give people the chance to find out more about learning and achievement, as well as raise awareness of the roles partner agencies play in supporting delivery of the curriculum.
The event takes place at Gordon Primary School on Thursday, May 21 from 9-11am.
Councillor Sandy Aitchison, executive member for education, said: “This is a wonderful example of partnership working, not just the two schools themselves, but the way in which they have involved parents and carers is to be commended.”
