YES Berwickshire hit campaign trail

There is six months to go until the Scottish independence debate and YES Berwickshire are planning more high profile events in the coming weeks.

The next community forum is in Greenlaw with Paul Wheelhouse MSP on Friday, April 4, from 7pm at the Greenlaw War Memorial Hall, East Street, Greenlaw. Representatives from ‘Borders Young People for YES’ will be speaking on the night.

Other community events are also planned for Chirnside, Cockburnspath and Swinton, with larger public speaking events for Eyemouth, Duns and Coldstream.

Their first evening of Conversations on Independence will be held in Eyemouth, at the Hippodrome/Fisherman’s Mission on Thursday, June 5, guest speakers being writer Peter A Bell, blogger and commentator Colin Fox, who is chair of Scottish Socialist Party, and Ash Denham of the Common Weal/Jimmy Reid Foundation.

On Friday, June 20, Robin McAlpine from the Jimmy Reid Foundation and other guests, will be speaking at the Volunteer Hall in Duns.

YES Berwickshire are also engaging with the business community; their first business forum was held in Duns on Wednesday, the next forum will be in the Black, Bull, Duns, on Monday, April 7.
