Following publication of the Scottish Government’s ‘White Paper’ on independence, Borderers are being urged to engage in the debate about Scotland’s future.
The debate, which could be at home, in the workplace, the classroom or anywhere else, “has to involve more than the politicians” said Borders MP and former Secretary of State for Scotland, Michael Moore.
“The White Paper adds nearly 700 pages to the debate, alongside a similar number from the UK Government,” said Mr Moore.
“There is now no shortage of information and arguments out there!
“Seeing how the SNP have addressed, or not addressed, the key issues is very important to this area and I hope people will get involved. I firmly believe it is better for all of us in the Borders to stay put in the United Kingdom – but local people must decide.”
