Owners of quad bikes in Berwickshire have been urged to remove ignition keys when vehicles are not being used.
The advice follows the theft of two red Honda TRX420 quads from a steading shed at a Borders farm recently.
Police say the raiders removed a padlock from the building before driving the quad bikes out of the property.
“This is a recurring theme in rural areas across Scotland and we again ask that keys for quad bikes are kept securely away from the vehicles,” said a police spokesman.
“This makes them less appealing to steal and reduces the number of thefts affecting our farming communities.”
