The very first Dunbar, Arts, Crafts and Produce Market (DAC&PM) held as part of the Dunbar Christmas Lights switch-on in 2010, was the start of a brand new initiative to reacquaint locals and visitors with their town centre and showcase a wide range of local produce.
The market was a great success and DAC&PM have been invited to take part in this year’s Christmas lights switch on, which takes place on Sunday, November 29.
Dunbar town centre has so much to be proud of. Not only of historical importance, with stunning architecture but a high street with many independent retailers who pride themselves on their quality of product, together with excellent personal service.
DAC&PM, working with local retailers, bring an additional attraction to the high street by providing a selection of locally sourced arts, crafts and produce, all of which are handmade and crafted by specialists who take exceptional pride in their trade. In addition to the variety of stalls many of the Dunbar retail outlets will also be open adding to the wide range of goods and personal service on offer.
The market will open for business from 2pm-7pm and the spectacular Dunbar Christmas lights will be officially switched on at approximately 6pm.
This year’s market will consist of 20 stalls – ten of which will be allocated to local food and drink and the remaining ten to local arts and crafts. Funding for the event has been sup[ported by Community Windpower and the Community Food Fund and East Lothian Council.
The Dunbar Christmas Lights team are organising a variety of entertainment from Santa’s grotto to live music and Dunbar Buskers will be singing songs from the newly released Discover Dunbar CD.
