A planning application has been submitted to Scottish Borders Council to demolish buildings at East Mains Milnegraden Estate, Coldstream, and convert the steading into six houses.

A further development on the estate seeks to build two houses on land north west of Milne Graden Cottages.

The buildings being proposed to be demolished are not listed but sit in the grounds of Milnegraden House which is a B listed building. They were previously used for the storage of general farm materials and produce.

The proposed six new houses would be created from the stone building in the steading, two of which had been used as a piggery. Car parking for 13 vehicles is included in the plans.

Information provided in the planning application indicates that there are several dwellings in the vicinity of the proposed housing development, all owned by the applicant who also owns and runs the estate farm.
