Since creating Best Beginning back in 2009, Hils Robson has won the hearts of thousands of new parents across the region. More than 2,000 babies have now attended her infant massage classes which explain the powerful benefits massage can offer both parents and babies.

When the pandemic put a stop to holding her classes in person, Hils and her husband Robin decided to join forces to help new parents, by creating a new online guide to baby massage, with an array of free downloads and tips.

The highly-anticipated course is already set to be hugely popular, thanks to Hils’ passion for parenting and infectious enthusiasm.

She told The Southern: “In the past, my classes have been as much about making friends and socialising with other new parents as they have been about massage.

"While I realise that nothing will ever replace the social element of in-person classes, my hope is that my new course will enable students to learn all the specific techniques of baby massage in the comfort of their own home, and at their own pace.

"Being a new parent can be overwhelming and isolating at the best of times, let alone this past year. Speaking to new parents who were unable to be with family support networks or meet other new parents in their communities during the pandemic made me realise just how tough this time must be with a new baby.

"I felt that my husband and I could try to do something to help.”

Having been an instructor for over a decade, Hils has developed an extensive understanding of how massage can help babies; from soothing colic, colds, ear infections or reflux symptoms, to improving sleep, bonding and attachment.

In 2016, her classes won ‘Best Pre/Post Natal Activity’ in the UK at the What’s On 4 Junior Awards in London, as voted for by parents, and she has since completed a number of qualifications to continue furthering her understanding of infant development.
