During term time, all children who attend Primary 1-3 or an early learning and childcare setting are automatically entitled to receive a free school meal.

However, parents and carers of these children who also meet certain income-based eligibility criteria should apply for means-tested free school meals if they haven’t done so already.

Councillor Robin Tatler said: “The funds will be sent directly to eligible families, but should anyone have queries about their individual circumstances, they can speak to our customer advice and support Services team on 0300 100 1800.”
