Pauline receives her British Empire Medal

A Dunbar businesswoman has received a royal honour in recognition of her work in the town and county.

Pauline Jaffray was presented with the British Empire Medal by East Lothian’s Lord Lieutenant, Michael Williams, in the main chamber of Dunbar’s Town House.

Mr Williams hopes that her award will inspire others to make a similar contribution to their local community.

In 1986, Pauline established her PR/marketing/design Agency, PJ Design, which provides design services and support to many local businesses.

This led to her receiving a Local Business Hero award.

She has continued to support the local economy and, in 1989, started a new magazine, East Lothian Life. This publication promotes the heritage, business and visitor attractions of the county.In addition to business support, Pauline has also been an active member of East Lammermuir Community Council. She is a founding member of the Battle of Prestonpans Battlefield Trust and secretary of Dunbar Horticultural Society.
