‘Wizard of Oz’ auditions are to be held on the last two Wednesdays of this month, in East Ord Hall.

Berwick Operatic Society are looking for children and adults to take part in their upcoming production of ‘The Wizard of Oz’ which will take place on the stage of The Maltings between March 25-29, next year.

Children’s auditions designed for those aged between 8-15 will take place on Wednesday, October 22, at East Ord Hall, between 6-7pm.

Children under the age of 16 wishing to audition for the part of Dorothy should stay until 7.30 pm.

At that time there will be a meeting and a sing-through for anyone aged 16 and over.

Adult auditions for all character parts and for people wishing to audition for Dorothy, aged 16 and over, will take place on Wednesday, October 29, at East Ord Hall from 7pm.

And it is not just the humans that the society are putting through their paces.

Berwick’s canine stars are getting their chance to strut their stuff on the stage, because the operatic society will be holding auditions on Sunday, October 26 at 3pm at The Scout Hut, Berwick.

The role to aim for at this audition is a dog to play the part of Toto, Dorothy’s trusty sidekick in ‘The Wizard of Oz’.

Dogs of all breeds (and shapes and sizes) are welcome to audition, and owners can be reassured that the
society takes the welfare of their animal performers very seriously!

The only requirement is that the dog must be of good temperament and be comfortable and willing to work around children.

Teas/coffees and doggy treats will be available for a small donation to Berwick Animal Rescue Kennels.

The society expect it to be a fun and noisy afternoon. Again, email berwick
