As a tribute to his late mum who was a huge animal lover, a Burnmouth man is to scale the heights of Ben Nevis with one of his pet dogs.
Stuart Miller, who runs Miller Pest Control, is ascending Scotland’s famous peak at the beginning of August in aid of BARK along with his seven year old dog Thorn.
Although he is a big animal lover himself the main motivation behind his choice of charity is his mum who sadly passed away last year.
“She always said she wanted to leave whatever money she had to animals; she loved them.
“BARK is the ideal charity to do it for and they’ve been a big help with my fundraising.
“My justgiving page isn’t live yet but already people have given me a few cheques which I’ve taken there.”
The absence of a online fundraising page hasn’t done Stuart’s cause any harm he has already raised £1,200.
“I’m over the moon to have raised so much. I had in my head that I wanted to get £1,000 so to be over that already is amazing.
“I’ve got to say a massive thank you to my customers as that’s where the bulk of the money has come to.”
Stuart’s sponsor forms are in Thistle Do Nicely, Skelly’s, West St Barbers and BARK shop and BARK kennels in Berwick; Rialto, Occasions and the vets in Eyemouth; the vets in Duns and Chirnside Chippy.
