Mystery Lottery winner bought ticket in Berwick

A MYSTERY punter has scooped the lottery jackpot with a ticket bought at a Berwick newsagents.

The ticket was placed at Kevin Harrison’s shop on Castlegate earlier this summer but the lucky winner has opted to remain anonymous.

Kevin said: “The first we knew about it was when we got a letter from Camelot saying that we’d had a big winner some time in the last few months.

“The person who won had requested anonymity so I don’t have any more details other than they won a six-figure sum somewhere between £100,000 and just under £1m.”

So far he hasn’t been able to pick up any clues as to his or her identity, although he is looking out for signs of strange behaviour. I’m looking out for someone pulling up in a Porsche,” he said. “Hopefully it’s someone from Berwick who’s now a secret lottery winner.”

It is the second big lottery win at the newsagent in the past two years, following the £100,000+ success of a holidaymaker from Dunstan.
