Enormous traction engines and giant, car-crushing monster trucks will descend on the National Museum of Flight at East Fortune this weekend as part of the attraction’s Magnificent Machines event.
The event will feature a host of amazing machines including fire engines, a mini steam railway and mini traction engines in addition to giant traction engines and monster trucks Big Pete and the Grim Reaper which will display their car-crushing skills.
Other classic vehicles set to attend include Jaguars, BMWs, Subarus and Rovers as well as Morris Minors, Fords Toyotas a Triumph Herald and a Nissan Bluebird.
The museum’s own collection of magnificent machines will also be available for visitors to view including a Green Goddess fire engine and a host aircraft such as an awe-inspiring Avro Vulcan bomber, the front fuselage of a Nimrod reconnaissance aeroplane and Scotland’s Concorde.

The monster trucks and traction engines are a fantastic spectacle and there’s lots to see and do at the museum from hands-on interactive displays to an amazing assault course, as well as our fantastic collection of aircraft. Magnificent Machines at the National Museum of Flight, East Fortune takes place on Saturday and Sunday, September 24/25, from 10am until 5pm.
