A FIVE day search for missing man Anthony Quinn was brought to a happy conclusion on Friday when the 55 year old was traced safe and well in Wasington, Tyne and Wear.
Anthony, more commonly known as Tony, was reported missing after disappearing from Whichester on Sunday, April 1. Unable to contact him, friends and relatives grew increasingly concerned for his welfare so got in contact with police.
An appeal for information on his whereabouts spread to the press, radio airwaves and the internet as Lothian and Borders Plice stepped up their search with help from Borders Search and Rescue.
Pictures of Anthony were circulated along with a description of what he was wearing and on Friday, police and his loved ones got the news they’d been hoping for when his whereabouts was detected and he’d come to no harm.
A statement from Lothian and Borders Police read: “Anthony Quinn, the missing person from the Longformacus area near Duns has been traced safe and well. Lothian and Borders Police would like to take this opportunity to thank the public and the media for their assistance in this matter.”
