Marine Reserve needs members for committee

Do you have an interest in the marine area of St Abbs, Eyemouth and Berwickshire?

The St Abbs and Eyemouth Voluntary Marine Reserve is seeking new committee members and needs your help!

The reserve was established in 1984 as one of the first of its kind in the UK. It protects some of the most important marine habitats and species in Europe and is a valuable resource for people who live in, work in, and visit the area. Its main aim is to conserve the area through partnership working, which requires a balanced mix of members representing a range of local interests, including fishers, divers, local community groups, harbours, conservation groups, plus statutory agencies.

New members could represent their own interests or a particular user group (eg divers, fishers), you might have a general interest in the area, or you might bring skills and experience to the group (eg project management). Whatever your reasons, if you can commit to attending at least four evening meetings a year, and if you can make a proactive contribution, the reserve love to hear from you.
