Torness power station has named Marc Douglas as Apprentice of the Year.
Marc, from Dalkeith, picked up the accolade at EDF Energy’s apprentice graduation ceremony, held at Coventry’s Motorcycle Museum – just as the search for the 2016 intake of apprentices gets underway.
28-year-old Marc said: “I’m really pleased to have been given this award. The apprenticeship programme was so interesting and varied. I’ve met great people and the skills I’ve learned have set me on a career path for life. I’m delighted to have joined the team at Torness on a full-time basis.”
Station director Paul Winkle said: “Marc really deserves this recognition for the hard work and dedication he has shown during the four years of his apprenticeship. I’m proud of him and the six other apprentices now in full-time employment.”
