A Coldstream man was airlifted to hospital after he was involved in a collision with a JCB.
The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) was called to assist North East Ambulance Service with the incident which happened on the A698 to the west of Berwick at 4.40pm on Monday, July 18.
The 29-year-old man had been ejected from the sunroof of his car through the force of the collision and he landed on the road.
He sustained multiple serious injuries and was treated at the scene by the air ambulance doctor and paramedic crew where he was stabilised before being flown to Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary within 20 minutes for on-going treatment. He arrived in a stable condition.
The road was closed for several hours with traffic diverted until the scene was cleared.
