Duns residents with hearing loss discovered the life-changing benefits of learning to lipread at a session held during National Lipreading Awareness Week.
Led by Liz Hurst, a newly qualified lipreading tutor, the session was held in Duns Parish Church Hall. The 11 who attended got the chance to experience how lipreading can make a vital difference when communicating with family and friends. They also were given information on hearing loss from Sybil King who volunteers with Action on Hearing Loss Scotland.
Liz is now planning to run regular classes in Duns. For further information you can contact her on 01361 880029 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
