The Labour Party in the Borders is holding a protest in Galashiels on Saturday against proposed Trade Union bill changes.
Scottish Labour Party deputy leader Alex Rowley is joining the ‘Kill the Bill’ campaign, which takes place in the Market Square from 11am to 1pm.
Borders Labour Party spokesperson Barrie Cunning said: “At the heart of this bill is an ideology motivated by taking away the rights of the ordinary worker in favour of business and making money.
“It’s a clear attack on civil liberties and democracy its self. David Cameron has previously spoke about Labour going back to 1983 but should this bill become law it will be this Tory government that will be taking this country back to the times of division and despair which we had during the miners strike.
