New statistics show that the Borders NHS health board narrowly failed to meet Scottish government’s 95% target for treating A&E patients within waiting times.

A total of 94.2% of their 626 A&E patients were treated within four hours in the week ending May 31.

One person waited more than eight hours to receive treatment.
