Parents, children and staff at Cockburnspath Village Nursery have cause for celebration after a recent inspection praised the staffing and quality of care.
The inspection was carried out by Social Care and Social Work Improvement Scotland (SCSWIS), responsible for regulating the quality of nursery provision in Scotland. The inspection was unannounced.
The report found the level of care to be ‘very good’, and stated: “Cockburnspath Nursery provided a safe and happy place for children. Staff have created a calm and stimulating learning environment.”
“Staff are enthusiastic, approachable and work well as a team. They are committed to the ongoing improvement of the nursery by involving parents, carers and children in the development of the service.”
Manager Linda Coates said: “This report is all the more valuable for being based on an unannounced visit and is testament to the hard work and dedication of the staff.”
The inspection report highlights some comments received from parents of children using the nursery. They include:
“My daughter thoroughly enjoys nursery everyday. She gets all the interaction and confidence building skills I had hoped.”
