Scottish Borders Council (SBC) has teamed up with two charities to offer free microchipping for dogs.
The move comes ahead of the Scottish Government introducing compulsory microchipping in April 2016, which aims to help reunite lost or stolen dogs with their owners.
As a result, the council is hosting a free microchipping event with Dogs Trust, the largest dog welfare charity in the UK, on Friday, May 15, at Linkim Court, Eyemouth, from 10am to 2pm).
In addition, SBC has joined forces with veterinary charity PDSA to provide a further event on Tuesday, May 26, in Duns Square, frm 9.30am to 4.30pm.
Dog owners can again get their pets microchipped for free, on a first come first served basis, as well as being able to sign them up to get a free wellbeing check from PDSA.
