Duns based rally driver Dale Robertson took his rally car along to Fogo Nursery last week ahead of the Jim Clark Rally - one of the last pictures to be taken of the car which was destroyed by fire during the rally. Fortunately Dale and his co-driver escaped unhurt.
The children are currently doing a topic on transport and with the Jim Clark Rally imminent staff at the nursery thought it would be a good opportunity for them to see a rally car up close, and Dale was more than happy to oblige.
The children loved seeing the car and taking turns in having a little seat in it - maybe a future rally driver in the making!
The nursery recently received two grants - £3469 from Awards for All for their IT improvement scheme and £840 from the Daisy Chain Trust for new outdoor play equipment such as bikes and scooters. They are also very busy with fund raising events at the moment and have a family fun day coming up in Charterhall gardens on Saturday, June 8, 2-4pm, and a coffee morning in Duns Parish Church on Saturday, June 22, from 10am-11,30am.
