Fishing boat loses power

Eyemouth RNLI lifeboat was called out last Wednesday morning after the 12 metre trawler, Arcturus, lost main engine power while fishing four miles from Eyemouth.

The Ullapool registered trawler, with three crew on board, developed an engine problem that eventually resulted in the engine stopping all together, leaving it dead in the water. Once it was clear that there was a major fault, the skipper contacted the Coastguard.

Eyemouth lifeboat was launched and arrived on scene, passed a tow to the Arcturus, and towed it back to Eyemouth harbour.
