SHE’S the duck that’s had everyone talking and now Indian runner duck Ducky will be seeing in the new year in a new home after she finally left Eyemouth allotments this week.
Ducky’s stay at the allotments proved to be quite a controversial one after her owner, James Anderson accused Scottish Borders Council of changing their minds about their decision to allow her to live there.
The local authority insist that no permission, either verbal or in writing, was ever given for Ducky and other ducks to stay on allotment land and after a few weeks of disagreement and warnings that he was in breach of his lease, James has decided it would be best for Ducky to move elsewhere.
And he’s got his wish to keep her in the vicinity of Eyemouth as one of his farming friends from Reston has agreed to give her a place to stay.
However, this is only on a temporary basis and James is hoping a local landowner could give Ducky and her three feathered friends a permanent new home.
