AN EYEMOUTH man died on Sunday after falling ill at the wheel while on the way to visit his daughter.
Peter Johnstone (48) of Hurkur Crescent was travelling between his home and Kelso on Sunday morning but shortly after 10am he was found slumped in his car by a passing motorist.
His car had left the road just north of Whitsome on the B6437; entered a field and rolled to rest against a boundary fence.
There were no apparent injuries and there was minimal damage to Mr Johnstone’s vehicle.
CPR was attempted at the scene but this was to no avail.
Investigations have shown that it was a medical issue which caused the death.
